About the Show

By The Way is a daily devotional heard on radio stations around the globe. It’s been called the best minute on radio, as listeners identify with the simple, down-to-earth thoughts finding them inspiring. They write to say their faith in Jesus Christ is strengthened as they are reminded of God’s goodness. The By The Way program encourages listeners to live according to God’s plan. This short 90-second message is often described as a “Thought for the Day.” One program is produced for each day of the year. The popular devotional, hosted by Paul Devantier, is heard around the world.

Dr. Devantier is the president and speaker of the By the Way ministry, located in Wisconsin. Previously, he served as the executive director for the National Luthern Alliance and senior vice president of Concordia Seminary. He was also the director of the National Council for Adoption, executive director of communications for the Luthern Church – Missouri Synod and the general manager of a radio station. Along the way he received multiple awards in communications. In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Devantier and his wife Ellen, have the gift of parenthood. They have served as foster parents to more than 80 children and adopted three of their five children. Some of their foster children were special-needs kids. As parents, they have been given the Outstanding Adoptive/Foster Parent award from the Adoption and Foster Care Coalition of Missouri and the Friend of Adoption award from the National Council for Adoption. The program airs daily on LifeTalk Radio.
