What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God which describes His character of love and provides a guide for daily living. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV.
We believe Jesus is the eternal, self-existent God and is not a created being. He is fully God and the Son of God, a member of the Holy Trinity. He took upon Himself the form of a man to live and die for our sins. We also believe He arose three days later. “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” Romans 4:25 NIV.
We believe Christ took upon himself the penalty of sin on the cross of Calvary to set us free and provide a way for eternal life. “Sin pays its servants: the wage is death. But God gives to those who serve him: his free gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 Phillips. By believing in Jesus Christ and accepting the transforming grace of His shed blood, we receive the gift of eternal life. “Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” Ephesians 2:9 NLT.
Because we love Jesus for His sacrificial death, we desire to obey Him as He commands. “If you love me, obey my commandments.” John 14:15 NLT. Although we are not saved by our good works, we choose to follow His commandments because we are saved. They provide a guide for successful Christian living. “This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:3 NKJV.
We believe that prophecy reveals Jesus is coming again very soon to take us home to live with him. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:1-3 NKJV. (See also Matthew 24:32-51).
