About the Show
For decades people who can’t sleep have been listening to the soothing audio waves of Nightsounds hosted by Bill Pearce. Before white noise devices, or green, brown and pink noise apps were ever invented, there was Nightsounds — providing relaxation and the peace of God to troubled souls with disruptive thoughts, stress and even night time self-doubt. Nightsounds continues to be an effective way to wind down after a stressful and demanding day. With a recipe that features beautiful, mellow music and the calm verbal support of Bill Pearce, Nightsounds meets the needs of those who long for a touch of quiet, soul satisfying inspiration and hope.
Nightsounds originated in Chicago as a nightly, local radio broadcast of Moody Bible Institute’s radio station, WMBI. The focus of the program was to reach those individuals searching the radio dial for help to relieve a stressful, troubled spirit. The program included suitable music for this night-time audience, along with the unscripted comments and Bible-based insights of host Bill Pearce plus his trombone melodies. The Nightsounds program quickly gained a broad listening audience not only among believers, but with cynics and agnostics as well. By the early 1970’s, the program had expanded to nearly 100 radio stations.
Today NightSounds, is broadcast each night over more than 300 radio stations, plus satellite, cable, and translator outlets across the U.S., Canada, and overseas. Over the years, Bill (who passed away in 2010) was well known as a radio personality, an accomplished musical recording artist who produced several albums, and also as an author. He was inducted into the National Religious Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame in 1992.
