International Day of Peace

Usually we hear about peace on earth at Christmas time. But did you know there is an annual International Day of Peace? In 1981, the United Nations General Assembly declared September 21 as the International Day of Peace. It’s designed to commemorate and strengthen the ideals of peace. The dove is the symbol associated with this day. On this day the UN encourages the entire planet to observe 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. It may be a challenge to imagine world peace, but it’s never inappropriate to pray for peace. LifeTalk Radio encourages everyone to pray for peace, not only on September 21, but on every day of the year. Plus take a moment right now and send a beautiful digital greeting card to someone special and remind them of the importance of peace and praying for peace. You can even add your own message to the email, or SMS, or even post it on social media if you wish. To honor International Peace Day, LifeTalk Radio has created several special free digital greeting cards. Click here.

Please remember, if you have special prayer needs, we’d like to pray for you. Just let us know what you desire us to pray for. Submit your prayer requests online any day, any time. Or call our prayer hotline: 1-800-775-HOPE (4673).
