Today on Health & Longevity, host Dr. John Westerdahl, dedicates his program to life and work of Dr. Hans Diehl. Dr. Diehl passed away on August 2, 2023. He is recognized as one of the "Fathers of Lifestyle Medicine" and has been recognized as one of "America's Top 20 Health Superheroes." Dr. Diehl was a Loma Linda University School of Public Health classmate, Lifestyle Medicine colleague, and close friend of Dr. Westerdahl. Dr. Diehl is most famous as the Founder of the Complete Health Improvement Program (C.H.I.P.), a community-based healthy lifestyle program to prevent, successfully treat, and potentially even reverse many of the chronic diseases faced in America today. Over 85,000 people have participated in the program. The C.H.I.P. has been credited with improving the health and saving the lives of thousands of people worldwide, particularly those with heart and circulatory related diseases, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Dr. Hans Diehl previously served as the director of research and health education for the prestigious Pritikin Longevity Center, being one of Nathan Pritikin's righthand men.
